THE EARLY YEARS 1995 - 2001
Born in 1983 and grew up in Fairbanks Alaska. I was always interested in film and visual effects. Starting at the age of 12 I began teaching myself programs so my friends and I could shoot video and add the desired visual effects. I kept this mantra my whole life, learn what is necessary to achieve anything my clients required. After high school and attending college at the University of Fairbanks Alaska I moved down to Los Angeles at the age of 19. Quickly realizing that there we no universities that could teach me what I wanted to learn in Visual Effects, I decided to jump right in and get hands on experience.
PAYING MY DUES 2001 - 2009
By the time I was 21 I had the privilege of VFX supervising a Foo Fighter music video, which lead to more music videos, commercials, supervising and designing effects for TV shows, and films.
This led me to work for a company which worked primarily on feature films, and very ambitious ride films. From this company I started my own, developing one of the first methodologies for stereoscopic conversion for Piranha 3D & Green Lantern.
Unfortunately stereoscopic conversion can be very tedious and a tad boring. I sold the technology to my partner at the time so I could pursue more interesting ventures. This led me to start another company focusing on stereoscopic production of 4k IMAX size screens, and complex Ride film design & Production. One of the more comprehensive projects was for Sea World Orlando called Turtle Trek. At the time the first of its kind full dome stereoscopic theater. From which I designed new technology to work within the 3D applications to render the content correctly for the Venue. This turned into a huge success for Sea World, and led to many more projects in China / Korea/ Singapore and others.
